Our Story
Welcome Y’all!
We are Southern Roots Periodontics and Implant Specialists, a periodontal specialty office in Florence Kentucky that loves to learn, collaborate, and help patients obtain their best oral health. Our mission is to provide the highest standard of periodontal care in our community.
Our doors first opened in July 2014 when Dr. Estes purchased the practice after returning home to Kentucky from practicing in North Carolina. Over the years, the practice continued to grow. In 2017, an additional practice was purchased allowing us to expand from a small three patient room office into the current facility on Mall Road in Florence. With this growth came many more patients needing treatment. As a result, Dr. Marlow and several other team members joined the practice in 2017 to support the growth and the high standards that Dr. Estes has established.
Our name, Southern Roots, is a nod to our southern upbringing. With Dr. Estes being raised in Kentucky, and Dr. Marlow in Alabama, we strive to provide southern hospitality in a caring, friendly, and non-judgmental environment leading to optimal patient outcomes.
Meet the Doctors
Ryan P. Estes
DMD, MS
Dr. Estes is excited to lead the team at Southern Roots in Florence and Ft. Thomas, Kentucky. He returned home to Kentucky in 2014 after three years working with a highly recognized national speaker and clinician regarding dental implants and periodontics in North Carolina.
After growing up in Henderson, Kentucky, Dr. Estes completed his undergraduate education at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky before obtaining his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry.

Allison K. Marlow
DDS, MSD
Dr. Marlow is thrilled to be a part of Southern Roots in Florence and Ft. Thomas, Kentucky after spending seven years in Indianapolis, Indiana.
After growing up in Dothan, Alabama, Dr. Marlow completed her undergraduate education at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama before completing a Doctorate of Dental Surgery and a three-year residency program in Periodontics and Dental Implantology at Indiana University School of Dentistry.

Srividya Prabhu
DMD, MSD
Dr.Prabhu grew up in Iowa and Illinois, where she completed her undergraduate degree at Augustana College. Dr.Prabhu received her Doctorate in Dental Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. She then completed her specialty training in periodontics and advanced implantology at Indiana University before joining the team at Southern Roots Periodontics and Dental Implant Specialists.
Dr.Prabhu has treated patients of all ages and types of needs. She provides a gentle touch and takes the time to listen to and understand the concerns, challenges and needs of her patients. Her calm, receptive nature allows her to build fulfilling relationships with her patients. She works with them to create individualized therapies and conservative treatment plans that will support them on their path to dental health and have a smile they can feel great about.
